S.O.E. Mentor

The Art Institutes were a for-profit group of colleges I started teaching with around 2002. I quickly grew to love the San Diego campus I was working at and would stay there for almost 16 years. The experience changed my career forever and I left production work behind, closing Cubicle Arts around 2003 to concentrate on my work at The Art Institute. I moved in a Chair position and soon after into a director position at the AiSD campus. I would move positions several times, eventually becoming The Institutional Director of campuses on the West Coast.  One of the projects I’m most proud of was our relationship with S.O.E. Online and the resulting Prototype class partnerships. Below is an article that presents the partnership and the unique ways Joe Shoopack, the Creative Director at S.O.E. Online, created a process that helped the campus job placement, internships, and student experience, but also helped S.O.E. with it’s management training programs.
