Speeding Up Creativity with Digital Generative Tools

The images I use for my designs come from a lot of sources. Fortunately I can draw reasonably well, so many of the images are my own design. Often I use Ai, or imagery from my library of game textures to start the image, then stack, pull, twist and generally smash parts of many images together to get a design I’m happy with.

It probably isn’t something most think about, but if your trying to come up with a cool looking, fun design for an it’s bitsy DieCast car, the design has to be long on the horizontal, shallow on the vertical and twist around wheel wells and windows. It’s harder than you might think.

Digital generative filling tools have made a huge difference in how fast I can work, I can create a design in 3D or 2d, mask the focal emphasis of the image, fill the background and add small details and correct color in about 1/10th the time it took me to do so 10 years ago.

The pics shown here are just a few I have to pull from. Feel free to use these pics in your own design!
