Chinkilla!

Chinkilla! my entry in the 2017 Nationals in LA. Won the top prize that year. This one took waaayyy to long to make. Would have been helpful if I’d built it from the inside out instead of from the outside in.

All the innards are cobbled together from watch parts. There also used to be a light that illuminated the center cylinder. The battery lasted only about a year, and it is forever locked in the back of the car.

The metal plates fell off the car minutes before the contest’s cutoff. I bought some $20 hotel super glue, slapped those panels back on, and had about 3 minutes left to spare. I’ve since learned how to use resin to attach metal parts to painted parts—it works much better.
